Me sitting on the ground in front of the Portland Island lighthouse in Wairoa. Because I didn't have anybody to hold the camera, the phone camera is on the ground looking upwards at me. The soles of my bare feet are visible in the lower third of the image. I am looking at something out of frame.

As I wrote a few days ago, I've been back to Hawke's Bay, where my whānau are from (and where I grew up at least half of my childhood) a few times. Quick stop in Palmerston North on the way home from a trip to see family. When I lived here as a kid, the Square had a waterfall, more than one pond, and the clock tower didn't have a silly hat. Read full post…
